Overview:
Enabling a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate ensures that your website runs over HTTPS, protecting your visitors’ data and improving your site’s trust and search ranking.
Before activating SSL, make sure you’ve completed your DNS setup and published your website.
Follow the steps below to enable your secure connection.
Before you can enable SSL, ensure that your domain’s DNS records are properly configured and your site is published.
If you haven’t updated your DNS yet, follow the DNS Settings for Duda Websites guide first.
Log in to your Duda account.
Open the website you want to secure.
In the left-hand menu, click the SEO & Settings (gear) icon.
Select Site SSL from the available options.
Under the Secure Connection (SSL Certificate) section, click Generate Certificate.
Duda will automatically begin creating your SSL certificate for the domain connected to your site.
After generating the certificate, it may take up to 24 hours for the SSL connection to become active.
Once the process is complete, your website will be accessible securely via https://yourdomain.com.
After 24 hours, visit your website and check for the padlock icon in your browser’s address bar.
If the padlock is visible, your site is secured with SSL.
Important Notes:
Ensure your DNS setup is complete before attempting to generate the certificate.
If SSL activation takes longer than 24 hours, verify your DNS records or contact your domain registrar for propagation confirmation.
You’re all set!
Your Duda website now has a secure HTTPS connection, providing visitors with a safe and trusted browsing experience.
